Kazi Nazrul Islam said: “I am a poet; I have been sent by God to express the unexpressed, to portray the unportrayed.”  
 
He was very involved in with the Muslim and Hindu faith but seemed to have a strange concept of spirituality that did not agree with the powers that be.  In many ways he claimed to be speaking for God.  It is an interesting concept.  It’s fascinating to think of all those in the past, good and evil, who claimed to act in the name of God or would associate a religion with their movement.  I think of figures as far ranging as Osama Bin Laden and Martin Luther King Jr.  I guess the point is that the validity of the virtues being fought for are what is really important.  It is simple to claim that God is “on your side.”  It is a real challenge to truly do what is right.  I guess the people who are doing more positive things always seem more believable in hindsight.  But that does that mean they were really being honest with themselves and others when they claimed to be “sent by God?”
