Reading this article I was struck by how much division there is within a movement that has as it’s goal to unite individuals.  The organization always seemed disappointed with the outcomes it working towards.  I guess that’s because in the end individuals will not be self-interested in the way others want them to be.  

It’s amazing how many different factions that want to unite toward a common goal have such difficulty.  Especially when a major goal is to unite certain individuals in order to improve their lot, take control, or think for themselves.  It seems that for the majority of people the challenge of thinking for oneself really comes down to picking who you’d like to think for you.  Unfortunately most of that picking is done based on emotional reactions and gut instincts that are very rarely directly related to what we express as our true desires.  

I guess the best that any of us can do is continually express and share our best ideas and try to convey them in an appealing and honest manner.  Though it seems very rare that appealing and honest happen at the same time in any consistent way, striving to combine the two seems the best way to achieve great things through the power of community.  In light of that, I hope this song appeals to you.
