There’s so many things in this world about which I am ignorant.  No matter what I read, far away places still seem so far away.  This is the second article which I’ve read that has something to do with Cameroon. The first was the one about Charles Atangana.  He was a political lackey during the country’s colonial period.  I always had a tough time relating to historical and political matters in school.  One thing I hope to gain from this project is a broader understanding of the world.  I know that in the end I can only process a small percentage of what I read.  I’m thankful to have the opportunity for even that.  My general sense is that Africa is a place where there is a lot of struggle and conflict.  Whether as a result, cause or both, it seems a good infrastructure was never developed.  Electricity and clean water are not always readily available.  What if more Africans had access to the resources and information that I do?  Would people relate differently?  Would they be better equipped to solve problems and get along with one another?
